Not sure how to feel about my latest discovery….

Some site {in India} has pirated my Christian short story #NeverForget

Interesting way to start the year, huh?

Honestly, part of me is shocked that it’s gotten out there far enough for anyone to attempt this, especially this soon. The other part of me is deeply upset. That particular story is based on an actual event from my childhood. How could anyone try to steal something like that?

Now, I could get furious, but that would only raise my blood pressure and add unneeded stress. Instead I’ve decided to look at it this way: I’m officially a successful author now, since people are trying to steal my work, which  is something that happens to all successful authors at least once during their career. I’m going the DMCA notice route and will see what happens.

In brighter news #MuseOnline took #2 in #PreditorsandEditors poll for  Online Writers workshops. WTG team!

#MFRWOrg took 3rd for online workshops. WTG team!

#CoffeeTimeRomanceandMore tied for #3 in the same poll. WTG Team!

#CritiqueCircle was tied for #4 in the same poll.  WTG team!

Wow, all four are places I am an active member of. Only at CC I’m not a staff member. I’m surrounded by hardworking, talented writers.

Readers sound off: How did you react the first time you found one of your stories pirated? How did it make you feel?

Catrina Barton is a licensed Kung-Fu Instructor of the Black Dragon style, and draws on that experience to make her fight scenes both realistic and action packed. She enjoys being surrounded by the stark beauty of mother nature. Whether it's a moon-lit starry sky, or a picnic by a peaceful waterfall cascading from the mountain side. Growing up no matter where she was physically, she always had at least one book in her hands and spent every free moment lost in a book. It's only natural that as she grew up, her passion for reading grew into an even stronger passion for writing, especially Young Adult Paranormal Romances. She is a proud member of many writing and marketing groups, and an active participant at Critique Circle and several other crit groups. Favorite personal quote: "An author cannot grow without both constructive criticism and encouragement."
