This week’s subject combines Marketing and Writing tips, so bear with me.

Last night I attended another fabulous MFRW members only, exclusive webinar,  hosted by Joan Stewart and Christine Buffaloe.  These ladies discussed a lot of ways Twitter, and Facebook can be maximized as tools for for promoting you {the author} and your products {your books}.

Branding yourself is an important aspect of becoming an author, whether traditionally published, or self published. Every blog post, and how you conduct yourself on social media, are all part of branding yourself as an author.Getting your name, your brand, and your products out there are vital to growing your audience and increasing your sales.

Twellow is an awesome tool for helping create a buzz about your and your books. The equivalent of the Twitter Yellow Pages. Stop and think about that a minute.

Twitter’s Yellow Pages.

How often did you scroll through the phone book {before everything went digital} looking for a product or company? Imagine how much exposure that would bring you.

You don’t fill out an ad either.

It defaults to your Twitter profile {the area under your name where you talk about yourself and your products, using keywords, while keeping it engaging} You can use up to 2K words to create the listing. You list yourself under Writer, Author, or Books, and Twellow does the rest, based on your keywords. Your Twitter handle can be listed under several different categories at the same time, increasing your chances for exposure. How awesome is that?

Click my listing to see an example.

The only drawback is to make your listing as clean as mine, you’ll need to know some basic HTML commands.

As a teen I studied HTML and other stuff to do with computer repair languages. So, I can share some basics commands you’ll need to create a clean bio for it with you. Keep in mind it is vital to watch the spacing. If you add extra spaces, or take away what should be there, it won’t work. Instead it’ll become gibberish.

Now, go forth and employ your word-smithing skills to dazzle people with your new Twellow listing. 🙂

Have you attended any awesome seminars lately? How often do your word-smithing abilities come in handy for stuff like making an author bio, a listing, or a profile?
