Yup, that’s me working on my novel while I wait for the laundry to finish at the laundry mat.
We call it “Humble Beginnings”
Catrina Barton is a real go-getter, who in 2006 turned her avid reading addiction since she was three, into a vigorous passion for writing. Especially Young Adult Romances. She draws on her knowledge as a Kung-Fu Instructor to make her fight scenes both realistic, and action packed.
When not indulging her fertile imagination to craft stories for your reading pleasures, she enjoys hiking with her family, and amateur belly dancing.
Her love of writing, and her family, rival her exhilaration from helping fellow writers. She is a proud member of many writing, and marketing groups, and an active participant at Critique Circle, and several other crit groups.
Writes reviews for Safari Heat, and Satin Sheets Romance.
Favorite personal quote:

Why did I start Kitty’s Inner Thoughts?
One: To share the many tips I’ve learned about writing through trial and error, books I’ve purchased on the craft, and tips I’ve picked up from my various critique groups.
Two:Â To share tips and tricks I’ve picked up while I learn to market my novels and share my publishing journeys with you.
That’s pretty much what every writer blog out there does. Right?
Kitty’s Inner Thoughts focuses mainly on ways to help us improve our writing as we continue to grow. To be brutally honest writers never stop learning. Our thirst for knowledge and improvement is unquenchable.
So, how will this blog differ from the millions of others out there?
For starters I don’t claim that my methods or ways are the only ones. I’m open to listening to suggestions that are made respectfully. I don’t claim to be anything more than I am. A writer, still learning all the ins and outs of the craft. I’m no different than my followers. We may be at different stages in our writing careers, but we are still learning.
Aspiring writers will discover a plethora of useful articles on improving your writing techniques, and finding your unique writer’s voice.
Fellow authors will find great articles on the marketing aspects of promoting your novels, blogs, and honing your author brand.
Readers will find a ton of events such as blog hops {usually with a prize or two} book reviews, and author interviews.
I encourage each of you to say what is on your mind. Don’t feel shy to respond in the comments. Everyone has an opinion. Share it. I enjoy hearing how different writers think about each of the subjects I cover.

to make the story more dramatic you should not mention the word rape let the reader guess it.Maybe shorten the beginning more and let thev latter paretn of the tale expand. The happy ending comes a bit too pat. Well done and good luck. Dot
Thanks. I tried leaving it to the readers imaginations with just hinting at it through her actions, but all my crit partners said they couldn’t connect to her because they didn’t know why she was so hurt and angry and cautious.
in that case the rape must come alive who did it what happened. You cannot have somethign so momentous mentioned without elaborating. AS I said earlier the story is iunbalanced in that the happy ending is squashed.

I didn’t like mentioning it outright to begin with. I’m going to find a way for it not to be blunt and rather speculated at.
